Katelyn West

Hello!

My name is Katelyn West and I'm a programmer who resides in Louisiana. I'm a innovative individual who's always looking to learn new things and aspires to refine things to as best as they can be!

I originally started my programming journey with the intent of developing video games. I began by programming in Python on the Renp'y engine to make visual novels Though recently my eyes have been drifting elsewhere, I'm an ever-hungry creature, and the more I learn the more I crave. A horrible ouroboros I have been condemmed with since birth.

I don't believe my game development years left me completely fruitless though, I heavily enjoy UI development which is applicable across every application known to man. I believe applications should be not only understandable to their users, but accessible wherever possible.

Work Experience

Quality Assurance Technician (August 2024 - Present): Testronic Labs

Tested mechanics on patent pending titles and reported issues found to developers using communication and tracking software.

2023

B-Force (January 2023 - June 2023)

B-Force is a game where you play as a bee in a suburban backyard, the objective of the game is to race around a track for a total of 3 laps in as less time as possible. I created this as my final project before graduating at AIE

Responsibilities

  • Programmed UI functionality
  • Designed levels by placing obstacles around the track
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities by helping team stay within scope.
2022

Frigid Peak (April 2022 - June 2023)

Frigid Peak is a game where you play as a hiker trying to reach the top of a snowy mountain. The goal of the game is to reach the topmost platform while avoiding snowballs being thrown by a yeti at the top of the mountain. It was a project for my first semester at AIE

  • Programmed the player movement
  • Designed levels by placing platforms and ropes vertically on the scene
  • Programmed UI functionality
2021

The Headspace (June 2017 - November 2018)

The Headspace was an experimental project made for the 90 days and ship it jam of 2021. It was meant to be a narrative/world exploration game where you explore an area called "The Headspace" a place created by one of the characters to be alone with ones thoughts.

Project 4th Wall (June 2017 - November 2018)

Project 4th Wall was my first game. It was a visual novel where the player is invited onto a test project to bring two androids to life. The game had branching route options and some minigames the player could play to progress the story.

  • This project was a completely solo endeavor
    • The only aspect not created by myself was the music, which was created and produced by Eric Matyas

Site Revamp! (12/27/2025)

Thought the old design looked like garbage so I fixed it.
